For New Beginners > 4 km
Cycling for relaxation in a beautiful place on the safe riding routes is a good option for practice. Therefore, Singha Park is a good choice for a beginner to ride with beautiful landscapes. There are slopes and plains, a fresh atmosphere, yellow fields, colorful flower fields, barley fields, grasslands, tea plantations, farm lands surrounded by mountains and large ponds with naturally aquatic animals. In addition to cycling, you can also visit the farm to feed animals, or have snacks and drinks whether at the café or at the restaurant there. Singha Park is open from 8 am to 5 pm daily. Bicycle rental starts at 150 baht per hour.
For Casual Riders > 8 km
Casual riders may try something different with a half day cycling tour around the city of Chiang Rai. If you do not have a bicycle, you can rent it at Fat Free Bicycle Shop on Klang Wiang Road or at a bike rental shop near Khaosoi PhoJai Restaurant on Jed Yod Road. There are many interesting places that you can visit at the city center of Chiang Rai, such as the Cultural Center, the Old Chiang Rai Clock Tower, Wat Phra Singh, Wat Phra Kaew, the Field Marshal's House, Wat Phra That Chom Thong, Wat Mung Muang. Then, you can turn back and continue cycling along the bicycle path to the Tung Garden, the Hill Tribe Museum, and the Thai Viang Church. Cycling in the city not only makes you experience the lifestyle of the city residents closely but also gives you a chance to have a cup of coffee or refill your energy by finding something to eat around the city.
For Professional Riders >23/64 km
A professional rider who wants to conquer the Doi Tung path has 2 options. If you have a lot of time, you might start off at Sing Park and ride through Mae Chan to reach Doi Tung with a total distance of 64 km. However, if there is not enough time (or energy), you may choose a shorter route which is from the Doi Tung Tourist Bus Station (Mueang Station) to the Phra That Doi Tung with a total distance of 23 km. All of these bicycle paths are suitable for professional riders who want to have fun with a group of friends who can also take care of their own safety.
